Summary

The Nepal–Hong Kong–China Culture & Trade Expo 2026 is a free public celebration of cultural friendship, community connection and business exchange between Nepal, Hong Kong and China. Organised by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong (NEPCHAM) in collaboration with the Community Engagement Aid Team (CEAT), the Expo will take place on Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kowloon Park Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui.

The event marks the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China alongside the beginning of Nepal’s Dashain and Tihar festive season. It will feature a tri-national flag-raising and opening ceremony, traditional and contemporary cultural performances, a Nepalese folk-dance showcase, authentic Himalayan food, handicraft and lifestyle stalls, interactive community activities, and a lucky draw. By bringing together local residents, the Nepalese diaspora, tourists, businesses, community organisations and invited guests, the Expo aims to strengthen Nepal–Hong Kong–China friendship, promote Nepalese culture and tourism, and create new opportunities for trade, investment and community engagement.

The event is expected to welcome approximately 5,000 attendees and will be promoted through bilingual English and Chinese campaigns, Nepali community networks, social media, community partners and local media outreach.

Event Objectives

• Cultural Celebration: Jointly celebrate the 77th National Day of the PRC and the commencement of Dashain, showcasing Nepal's rich cultural heritage.
• Diplomatic Goodwill: Reinforce bilateral and trilateral ties through a dignified Flag Raising Ceremony involving senior government representatives.
• Trade Promotion: Provide a platform for Nepalese entrepreneurs to showcase products and services, promoting trade and investment.
• Community Engagement: With the support of CEAT, deeply engage the local Hong Kong community, expatriates, and tourists through interactive workshops, cuisine, and performances to foster social harmony.

The China, Hong Kong, and Nepal Flag Rising Ceremony is a proud and respectful event that symbolizes unity, national pride, and cultural heritage. During the ceremony, the flags are raised with honor and reverence, reflecting the significance of each nation and community. This event fosters a sense of belonging and respect among participants, highlighting the importance of national identity and international friendship. It is a meaningful moment that celebrates the diverse cultures and histories of China, Hong Kong, and Nepal.

Nepali Food Bazar is a lively marketplace where you can enjoy a variety of traditional Nepali dishes. It offers popular foods like momos (dumplings), dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), gundruk (fermented leafy greens), and sel roti (sweet rice bread). The bazar features local flavors and street food, giving visitors a taste of Nepal’s culinary culture. It’s a great place to experience authentic Nepali cuisine and enjoy the vibrant food scene.

Nepali Craft Bazar is a vibrant marketplace that showcases the rich tradition of Nepali craftsmanship. It features a wide variety of handmade products such as traditional textiles, intricate wood carvings, colorful pottery, jewelry, and woven items. The bazar promotes local artisans and preserves Nepal’s cultural heritage, attracting both locals and tourists. It is a lively place to explore Nepal’s artistic skills and buy authentic, handcrafted souvenirs.

Chinese and Nepali Culture Exchange is a meaningful interaction that fosters mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation between the two nations. This exchange includes cultural festivals, art exhibitions, traditional music and dance performances, language programs, and culinary events. Nepal and China share historical ties, especially through the Himalayan region, and their cultural exchange helps to promote respect for each other's traditions, values, and customs. It also encourages collaboration in areas such as tourism, education, and heritage preservation, strengthening the bond between these two diverse and culturally rich countries.

A Lucky Draw will be held at 5:30 PM during the Closing Ceremony, open to all registered attendees with a ticket. Prizes include a Himalayan Wellness Hamper, Nepali Crafts, Gourmet Food Set, and Cultural Experience Pack, totaling HK$10,000. Tickets will be distributed at registration, and winners must be present to claim their prizes. The draw will be conducted transparently on stage.
